The Big “D” Little Birds Classic Thunderbird Club was formed in 1972 to band together owners and those who have an interest in classic automobiles.

The purpose of the Big “D” Little Birds Classic Thunderbird Club is to appreciate, preserve, restore, maintain and enjoy 1955-1957 and 2002-2005 Classic Thunderbirds. Our activities include club outings, weekly breakfast, monthly business meetings and Classic Thunderbird Club International (CTCI) sponsored events.

The cars referred to as “Classic Thunderbirds” were produced by Ford Motor Company in the model years 1955, 1956, and 1957. Seventy percent of the cars made in those three years are believed to still exist and many are also regularly driven.
 

With the advent of the “neo-classic” or “retro” Thunderbirds in the years 2002-05, the line of two seat models has been expanded. Those that are interested in the newer classics are also welcomed to join in our activities, though ownership of any particular Thunderbird car is not necessary to become a member.

We are chartered Chapter 46 of the Classic Thunderbird Club International (CTCI) based in Mission, Kansas. Membership applications are available to join CTCI at www.ctci.org . In addition to our local events, our members attend regional and international conventions.
 

Club members meet for breakfast every Saturday morning at the Southern Recipes Grill in Plano, TX located at 621 W. Plano Pkwy, #229. Come join us for breakfast any time you wish to arrive Saturday between 8:00 and 8:45 am.

Following is the membership form for the Big “D” Little Birds. This can be completed and sent to the Club Treasurer along with a check. New member dues of $25 should be paid by January 1st; paid after July 1st- $18; paid after October 1st- $9.
